An 0-1 record last night.
I hate the Rockies. I honestly should’ve known better as this team just can’t hit. I also wasn’t a big fan of them keeping German Marquez in late. He was cruising through six innings with just one run allowed when the team sent him out for the eighth. The Brewers added three there and took a 4-0 lead into the ninth. There was some excitement as the Brewers bullpen nearly coughed this one up, but Milwaukee held on.
The way things are in baseball now I feel it is a much bigger risk to leave a starter in there for the third time through the order than ever before. We’ve seen it time and time again, and will continue to do so until managers learn their lesson and start shortening that leash.
A travel day today with some early games so I’m putting this one up super early. Let’s start May off strong.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Texas Rangers Betting Tips:
Jameson Taillon has had a weird start ot the season. His peripherals are strong with a great groundball rate, but his left on base percentage is a very fluky 50%. He’s posted a 4.06 ERA/3.12 FIP and is due for some regression here. The Rangers offense is tough, but I like Taillon here and the bullpen has been very good thus far this season.
Shelby Miller, not so much. He’s not good. No strikeouts, lots of walks, and susceptible to the homerun. He has a 7.52 ERA/7.65 FIP and the bullpen behind him is nothing special. I think the Pirates hit him here as everyone else has and the Pirates roll.

Colorado Rockies vs. Milwaukee Brewers Betting Tips:
Chase Anderson isn’t my favorite pitcher, but you know what? The Rockies are the worst offense in the league.
The Brewers are hitting really well at home this season and I am willing to ride that here. Antonio Senzatela has really low strikeout numbers and is a 4.5-ish ERA guy. You know what to do here.
